Who we are
The Global Sub-saharan Human Rights and Developmental Policies Initiative (GSHRDPI) is an NGO with a mandate to harmonize global developmental policies usually dominated by western countries (Global North) with homegrown solutions from Sub-sahara Africa (Global South)for practical implementation through research, surveys and assessments.

Why we exist
To promote implementation of the SDGs in a relatable and sustainable manner within different local settings of the global south.

We challenge mainstream thinking and question conventional wisdom through encouraging participatory solution finding frameworks that involve all concerned stakeholders.
How we work
Through tackling the underlying causes of poor advocacy and implementation for both projects and policies in order to deliver lasting societal change in the lives of the global south and vulnerable people.
OUR FOCUS
Human Rights
We collaborate with partners to advocate for human rights, identifying violations, collecting data, analyzing, and publishing findings. We raise public awareness, engage in institutional advocacy, and lobby for halting violations.
Social Justice
We partner with civil rights organizations to champion the rights of marginalized communities, emphasizing civil rights as a fundamental human value. Our mission is to secure the rights and dignity that every group and community rightfully deserves.
Environmental policies
Collaborating with communities, NGOs, governments, and various partners, we tackle pressing issues like air and water pollution, biodiversity loss, the greenhouse effect, and ozone layer depletion. Our advocacy centers on championing innovative principles and approaches to safeguarding the environment.
Research and Reporting
We engage in in-depth research within specific critical domains, producing diverse reports and significant policy papers. These publications serve to educate the public, stakeholders, and NGOs. Simultaneously, we cultivate novel homegrown concepts that contribute valuable insights to experts in our field.
Policies Implementation
We actively champion and foster indigenous policies and solutions from Sub-Saharan Africa. Our approach relies on locally-driven research, surveys, and assessments, facilitating their practical implementation to address critical issues effectively.
Community Outreach
We provide open access to education, social planning, information, and community support services. Our aim is to empower local residents, enabling them to actively engage in their communities, make choices, and take actions that align with their values, enhancing their own fulfillment and the well-being of their neighborhoods.
